Description: Present paper describe about the Mannaas and their work in Kerala. The main job of mannaas are laundering and acting as priest in the worship of Bhagavathi and some minor deities. The most important priestly activity o fthe Mannaans is to draw designs or pictures with coloured powders representing Bhagavathi, do puja to it, and sing songs praising her and describing her exploits. These songs are called Bhagavathi Paattu.
