Description: This article is about Chhau Nacha (Dance) in two district of Indian states Saraikela in Jharkhand and Mayurbhanj district in Odisha. The Chhau dance is mainly performed during festivals in the region of Jharkhand, West Bengal and Odisha, especially the spring festival of Chaitra Parva and in which the whole community participates. Mayurbhanj school, surmise that the word chhau has been derived from the Sanskrit etymon chhaya. Chhaya means shadow. Basically it is a masked form of dance.
