Description: Present paper is about the life and achievement of Geeta Gopala. He starts with two verses (kandapadya) invoking the blessings of Gopala on the author, that is Chickadevaraja. The great classic, Geeta Govinda has inspired many imitations in Sanskrit and also in the regional languages. Many of them are exact copies despite different central characters. But a few at least present their own variations, while following the basic form of the Geeta Govinda.
