| dc.description.statementofresponsibility | F R Ratnagar (1898-1994) was one of the founding members of the Camera Pictorialists of Bombay, a group that pursued artistic photography at a time when the medium was considered too popular to be art. An international movement at the time, many groups of pictorialists flourished in India as well as abroad. They wanted to explore the possibilities of the camera beyond the mere documentation of an event or subject. |
