BANAM

The banam is a stringed wooden instrument used by the Santhal tribe. This tribe inhabits the region of Jharkhand, Bihar, West Bengal, Odisha and Assam. The banam is considered an object of reverence and prominently features in Santhal festivals. There are many varieties of this instrument.
