Description: Written by G D B Gribble, this book is a concrete history of the Deccan, covering the portion of Southern India which is bound by the Vindhya Mountains and the River Godavari to the North, and by the Tungabadhra and Krishna Rivers to the South, the Ghats or mountain ranges which skirt the sea coast on either side being the Eastern and Western limits. It proves to be an important book, as previous to the Mohammedan invasion there exists no authentic record of the history of the Deccan beyond inscriptions and architectural remains.
