Description: This report was ordered by the Bombay Government to record those monuments which ought to be maintained in permanent good repair, those that can be saved from decay by minor measures, and those that are in advanced stages of decay and are unnecessary to preserve. This report details all these monuments. The monuments in the first two categories are further subdivided into ones that are under the care of the government and which are in charge of private bodies. Lastly, as ordered, the report indicates what arrangements can be proposed for conserving the monuments in the first subdivision.
