This volume of South Indian inscriptions consists of for parts of which the first contains the text, trnaslations and short introductions of 63 inscriptions from Ukkal, Melpadi, Karuvur, Manimangalam, and Tiruvallam. The second part provides 25 Chola inscriptions descriptions and full political history of that period. The third parts brings out the text and translation of 117 Chola inscriptions belonging to the reign of Vijayalaya line.
