The presentation features a performance by the renowned Indian classical vocalist Savita Devi. She was born in Banaras and from her childhood studied music under her mother, the Queen of Thumri, Siddeshwari Devi. Savita Devi was trained in several light classical vocal forms like thumri, dadra, chaiti, kajri and tappa. She was an exponent of the Banaras gharana (Purab Ang). She was also an accomplished khayal singer and adopted the style of the Kirana gharana from her masters, Pandit Mani Prasad and Pandit Dalip Chandra Vedi. In the video, she performs a thumri in Raga Sohni which is set to Jat Tal and the bols are "Kaahe Karat Mose Raar." She is accompanied by Nawab Ali Khan on the tabla and Ballu Khan on the harmonium.
