Yakshagana is known in different parts of Kamatak by different names. While in the plains of the North Kamatak area, it is termed Doddaata, in the old Mysore area it is known as Moodalapaya. Its more refined form prevalent in the coastal districts of Karnataka is popularly called Yakshagana. So here we discuss about the traditional and historical perspective of Yakshagana and comparison with different dance forms.
